    This very clear handout defines and describes the levels and types of cues and prompt used with children. Family friendly wording of objectives is crucial to a strong and useful IEP. Helpful examples of IEP objectives using the varying levels of prompts and cues are included.The definitions provide a nice resource to use when explaining to parents what our often “technical” wording means to their child. It is an excellent aid for discussing how prompts are faded or adapted for individual children particularly those who need discreet trial learning.
